INSTRUCTORS

Tim Tucker

Renshi, 6th Degree Black Belt

National Shorei Goju Ryu Association - Chief Instructor

Sensei Tim Tucker started his training with Hanshi Herb Johnson in 1993, he moved to Lebanon and earned his 1st degree Black belt under Hanshi Mike Kincaid in 1998. From the beginning of his training Sensei Tim Tucker has been blessed to have trained with numerous martial arts masters (Karate & Brazilian jiu-jitsu) and the top self-defense instructors (firearms & bladed weapons) from around the world.

In 2019, Sensei Tim Tucker was awarded his 6th degree Black belt and Masters Degree ranking in Shorei Goju Ryu. He was honored during the ceremony with a special presentation of Hanshi Herb Johnson’s original 6th degree Masters Black Belt by Kyoshi Steve Hankins, surrounded by his mentors, instructors, students and friends.

In 2022, Sensei Tim Tucker was appointed as a National Shorei Goju Ryu Association - Chief Instructor.

He is a lifetime member of the Professional Karate Commission, member of the United State Karate Alliance, member of the United States Karate-do Kai, member of the United States Martial Artist Association and a member of Rickson Gracie’s Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation and recognized as an Educational Unit Academy.

As a self-defense and firearms training professional, he continuously researches and develops new curriculum and training methods to make the experience for his students the best they can get.  Sensei Tim Tucker believes that although civilian students can obtain great training from various sources, they are missing a key component in their personal safety training, if that training is not reality-based.

Tim has a law enforcement background, a former LEO Defensive Tactics and Taser Instructor.  He is a Certified Instructor with the United States Conceal Carry Association (USCCA), Certified Chief Range Safety Officer and a Certified Instructor with the National Rifle Association (NRA). He is also a Licensed PreFense instructor under Steve Tarani.

Martial Arts is more than just Self Defense, it encompasses the Mind, Body and Spirit.   One without the other leads to an unbalanced life.  The mind is trained and grows through life experiences, education and the right counseling (peer fellowship).  It needs to be sharp in order to make the right decisions that guide and lead us through each and every decision we make for ourselves and those around us that may also be affected.  The body of course is trained by proper eating habits, stretching, breathing exercises and core training (dojo/gym).  Without maintaining our body we lose our health, energy, motivation and sometimes our self-confidence.  The spirit many times is neglected by most martial artists.  For me this is maintaining my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  This is done by prayer, scripture reading, memorization and meditation on God's word.  Many martial artists are studying and looking for "The Way", in John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me."

Bill Parker

Renshi, 6th Degree Black Belt

While growing up on the southeast side of Indianapolis I seemed to daydream about karate quite often. I think that it is something most boys do. Like most young boys my thoughts where enhanced by TV shows like the “Green Hornet” with Bruce Lee. In my early years of high school my family made the move from Indianapolis to the north side of Boone County. The interest in Karate was still there, but in 1972 there were no Karate Studios to be found in Boone County or anywhere close, but yes there was still TV and the TV series Kung Fu and Kwai Chang Caine. So the only Karate I could practice then was Hollywood Karate, but it was the beginning of my start in the Martial Arts and the path I continue down today.

This move to Boone County was a new start at a new small high school and the making of new friends. It was there I met my wife, Brenda, of 37 years and we remained in Boone County to raise our 2 girls.  Then at the end of 1984 I decide to check out and possibly fulfill a childhood dream. I went to visit Mr. Mike Kincaid at the Olympic Karate Studio in Memory Hall, but it wasn’t until the first of 1985 when I decided to go for it and join up. I worked my way up through the ranks and started teaching class as a Green Belt in 1985 and after a few breaks in my training I promoted to Shodan in late 1998. Renshi Sensei was promoted in December 2019 to 6th degree Black Belt and received his Master Degree ranking in Shorei Goju Ryu.

In my over 32 years of training in the Martial Arts I have been blessed to have Hanshi Kincaid as my head instructor and also to have instruction from Sensei Woodings along with many others. It is a great privilege and pleasure to be one of the Head Instructors at The Lebanon Martial Arts Academy along with Renshi Sensei Tucker and the other instructors Sensei Milliser, Sensei Gohall, and the Marsh Sensei’s in sharing their strong passion to pass this knowledge on.

I have taught Martial Arts for many, many years and have trained with some of the best Martial Artist in the world and most of it has been right here in Lebanon, Indiana or the surrounding area. It is a joy to teach and to motivate others in their quest to fulfill their dream of becoming a Martial Artist and to pass on the knowledge of thousands of years of those who came before you knowing you are teaching the future generations this way of life.

Tammy Milliser

Sensei, 5th Degree Black Belt

Sensei Tammy Milliser joined Lebanon Karate in 2008 for the sake of connecting with her son.  In 2010 she earned her 1st degree Black belt and went on to earn her 2nd degree Black belt in 2011, 3rd degree along with the title of “Sensei” in 2013, her 4th degree Black belt in 2015 and she received her 5th degree Black Belt in 2019.  She has been teaching kids and adults since 2010.  Her goal as an instructor is to impart her martial arts knowledge along with the unique perspective of making it work for you!  Every person is different and what might work for someone tall is not going to work for someone below 5’ foot tall.  According to Sensei Milliser, experimentation with self-defense and martial arts has given her great self-confidence and self-awareness.  Now, she wishes to share that with you!
